Breathe-2

The project took place during spring 2000 and sixteen contemporary Swedish artists were invited to participate. Their works were produced in at least one copy and sent to fifteen places in five parts of the world. The recipients were artists who had participated in Breathe-1. The works were also presented on the Breathe project homepage and a catalogue in the English language was published.

Breathe-2 was a breathing-out - an exhalation. Those who were invited all lived in Sweden and their works of art were sent abroad. Since the recipients around the world were artists themselves, their locations were situated where art was not an everyday occurrence: bars, restaurants, libraries, offices, schools etc. Therefore the Swedish artists were asked to express their wishes: both as regards how their works should be presented and also as to what kind of places their works were to be sent. The catalogue in English was also sent in five copies to all fifteen locations around the world.
A manifestation was arranged at the club Sticky Fingers in Göteborg, where works were exhibited for a Swedish audience, and presented by the participating artists.
